During the mid 40s, Blue Bell brand started manufacturing jeans specifically designed for cowboys. In 1943, the official name for the cowboy jeans line was selected as Wrangler.

The first Wrangler jeans designed specifically for cowboys were launched in 1947 and featured: rear pockets positioned to ensure comfort while riding, felled outseams and inseams, zipper fly, no scratch rivet pocket reinforcements and a tack in the crotch instead of the traditional metal rivet.

Over the years, Wrangler has engaged numerous cowboys to promote its products. Jim Shoulders, 16 times World Champion Cowboy, signed on as an official endorsee of Wrangler in 1948 and continued his role until he passed away in 2007. The partnership between the cowboy and the Wrangler brand is the longest licensing endorsement in the history of professional sports.

Wrangler has also partnered with professional NASCAR drivers to promote its brand. In 1982, the brand became the first apparel company to have a significant role in NASCAR with a partnership with Dale Earnhardt. The partnership with Earnhardt became a family tradition when the brand became the official sponsor of his son, Dale Earnhardt Jr. in 2004.

Today, Wrangler continues to be at the forefront of jeans design, with a presence in more than 22 countries around the world. The brand offers a wide array of denim apparel for the whole family, from sizes newborn to adult.

Swap.com's Rating of Wrangler

Variety, selection and durability are all great attributes in any brand and Wrangler has it all. In fact, the company is so sure about the quality of its products that it offers a one-year warranty on every piece it manufactures. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship and the company states that it will replace or refund returned defective items within 4 to 6 weeks of receiving the article.

Wrangler’s focus on durability is a key consideration when selecting this brand. Let’s face it, children put their clothes through the ringer, so it’s great to know that the jeans they wear to school will last them through recess.

We also love the western style of the clothing and the company’s compromise with the lifestyle portrayed by its clothes. Wrangler supports and endorses a variety of organizations from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the Professional Bull Riders Association to the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, to name a few.
