Tek Gear is one of the many in-house brands made for and exclusively sold at Kohl's. The brand specializes in athletic apparel for men, women, and kids. The history of Kohl's dates back to 1962, when Maxwell Kohl opened his first department store in Brookfield, Wisconsin. After expanding his venture locally, Kohl sold majority control of his company to the British-American Tobacco Company (BATUS) in 1972. BATUS began to take Kohl's beyond the Wisconsin border and opened stores in Indiana and Illinois.

By the mid '80s, BATUS had started to lose interest in growing Kohl's any further, and the company was bought out by a group of private investors. Within a few years, the new leadership had made Kohl's into a national conglomerate, and the company went public in 1992. Today, there are more than 1,100 Kohl's stores in 49 states. The company has solidified its place as one of the largest department stores in the nation, and its commitment to selling national and exclusive brands at prices that are lower than most high-end retailers keeps Kohl's profitable year after year.

The line of Tek Gear products available in kids' sizes is exclusive to boys. Tops include a wide range of graphic tees and tanks with phrases and artwork specific to your son's favorite sport. You can also find mesh shorts and tricot or fleece pants that are perfect for wearing on the field or the court. Athletic underwear like briefs, boxer briefs, and compression shorts will help provide support and comfort while a selection of athletic socks are designed for ultimate performance.

While Tek Gear doesn't make athletic clothes specifically sized for younger girls, you can find a broad selection of women's sizes for older girls and teens. These clothes are designed to move easily and keep up with tough athletes of all ages. It's unclear why the brand has such a broad selection of clothes for young boys without any styles available for young girls--especially considering the women's collection has far more options than the men's. If you can find clothes to fit your little one's sports needs, however, you won't be disappointed with the quality and durability of Tek Gear.
