Nicknamed “The Flying Tomato” for his shock of red hair, Shaun White is an example of someone who beat the odds and thrived in spite of having a bumpy start in life due to health issues.

Born with a congenital heart defect, White had two open-heart surgeries before he was 5 years old. In spite of his early health issues, he would go on to become a professional snowboarder and skateboarder wining two Olympic gold medals and breaking skateboarding records at the X-Games and the ESPY Awards. White was the first person to compete and win the summer and Winter X Games in two different sports.

In 2008 Shaun partnered with Target to launch a limited edition apparel line for boys and young men. The collection was so well received that it returned in 2009 as a fixed offering all year round.

In 2011, collaborating with his brother Jesse, White designed and launched a home collection for Target with bedding, lighting and other home accessories inspired by the brothers’ love for skating and snowboarding.
