Old Navy Clothing at Discount Prices
Old Navy is part of the group of brands under the umbrella of the Gap Inc. companies, together with Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta, Piperlime and INTERMIX.
Old Navy takes its name from a café in Paris. Millard Drexler, president of the Gap group at the time Old Navy was created in 1994, named the company’s new venture after a café he frequented while visiting Paris.
The first Old Navy store opened its doors in Colma, California in 1994. Old Navy stores were designed to be larger than Gap stores by about 50% with an offering of lower cost clothing than Gap for Men, Women and Children.
Old Navy was well received by consumers and rapidly expanded and grew over the next three years to 282 stores in the United States, breaking record earnings in 1997 with $1 billion in sales in less than 4 years.
Old Navy stores went international in 2001 with 12 stores opening simultaneously in Ontario, Canada. In 2012 the company opened its first stores outside North America, with 8 stores opening in Japan.
Today, Old Navy stores still offers Men, Women and Kids clothes and also has a line of maternity wear and it has more than 1,000 locations in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Japan.
Babies & Kids Merchandise
Old Navy was created in 1994 to offer great fashion at lower prices and it continues to do just so, 20 years later with over 1,000 stores in the United States and overseas.
The brand offers a variety of casual styles for babies, kids, men, women and a line of maternity clothes. Old Navy style is casual and stylish, with jeans, t-shirts, cotton dresses, casual men shirts, shoes and accessories in fashionable styles for much, much less money.
The children's line offers kids' clothes for babies (0 to 24 months), Toddlers (12 months to 5T) and Boys and Girls (5 to 18 years old). The graphic t-shirts in the kids' lineup is a great example of Old Navy stylish and affordable products. The brand offers graphic t-shirts in a variety of themes, including Angry Birds, Sonyc the Hedgehog, Skylanders, Marvel super heroes (Spiderman, Hulk and Captain America), Minecraft, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Super Mario Bros and Star Wars.
Old Navy also has t-shirts for most major teams in different areas and most of the teams' shirts are available online.
One of the company’s main events, the $1 flip-flop day has been drawing customers to purchase one in every color since the campaign started in 2005.
Did someone say great style at low prices? We’re in! Old Navy has a great selection of kids’ clothes for much less than other brands, while still offering great styles and variety for everyday wear.
The graphic t-shirts are a huge hit with us, we love that they have something for everybody, from super hero fans with its Marvel line to video game and movie aficionados.
We are also big fans of the casual shirts and pants for boys and the great variety of cute cotton tops and dresses for girls. The baby line has an adorable selection of rompers and body suits as well as hats and adorable shoes for the younger ones.
Old Navy also has a great selection of kids’ swimwear and active wear in great styles for much less than at other name brand stores.
For its great styles and low prices, we give Old Navy 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Old Navy features a wide assortment of casual apparel for women. Knits include crew neck tees, scoopneck tees, camis, tanks, tamis, tunics, sleeveless tops, jersey tops, v-necks, layering tops, and more. You'll also find sweaters and cardigans in a number of different patterns, colors, and styles. Graphic short- and long-sleeved tees are very popular and might feature logos or unique designs related to pop culture. Old Navy's dresses are mostly casual as well, though some can be appropriately worn for a night out. Styles include shift dresses, sheath dresses, fit-and-flare dresses, maxi dresses, shirtdresses, bodycon dresses, wrap dresses, rompers, and jumpsuits. Outerwear is another popular category, with options like canvas jackets, peacoats, trenches, denim jackets, blazers, and fleeces.
In bottoms, Old Navy has plenty of jeans. In addition to having all the standard cuts (like straight, skinny, boot cut, and flare), the brand divides its selection based on the fit in the hips, waist, and thigh so that you can find the most comfortable denim possible. Other pants include chinos, khakis, crepe pants, linen pants, trousers, leggings, lougepants, and more. Mini, midi, and maxi skirts are all available in different styles, and you'll also find a number of different shorts--including Bermudas, twill shorts, denim shorts, terry-fleece shorts, and more. Swimwear options include bikinis and one-piece swimsuits, as well as rashguards, boardshorts, and cover-ups. Intimates range from robes and nightgowns to bras and underwear. Old Navy's footwear collection features ballet flats, sneakers, sandals, flip flops, and boots.
Few brands offer the sheer selection of options that is presented by Old Navy. Almost regardless of the article of clothing you are in the market for, it's easy to find several different styles from this single retailer. Clothes are almost exclusively casual, which is why you'll often see plenty of people clad in the brand's clothes during a trip to the mall or a day at the beach. Comfort also takes precedence over style, so most clothes are very relatable. Old Navy does a great job catering to women of all sizes, and it offers garments in petite (5'4" and under), tall (5'10" and over), and plus sizes. While the clothes aren't always built to withstand the test of time, low prices mean that they are pretty easily replaceable. We give Old Navy 4.5 stars out of 5.
