Faust Capobianco III founded Majestic Athletic in 1976 with an emphasis on athletic team wear. At first the goal of the business was to supply jerseys and other products to sports teams, but it soon transitioned into also manufacturing apparel for fans. Majestic's first major coup came in the early 1980s, when the practice jerseys that it had created were officially adopted by the MLB. By 1989, the company had also signed a deal with the NFL to make fan apparel for all of its teams.

After years of supplying practice jerseys, Majestic Athletic became the sole manufacturer of on-field uniforms for the MLB in 2004. Three years later, the brand was acquired by the VF Corporation--one of the world's largest textiles giants. Today, Majestic continues to manufacture fan apparel for basically every major athletic league in the country, including the NBA, NHL, and NFL. Its brand mission is to bring sports aficionados inside the action with its innovative designs and professional-caliber products. In addition to its manufacturing goals, the brand is also socially conscious and sponsors charities like the Miracle League of Lehigh Valley, which offers athletic opportunities to special needs children. The company is based in Tampa, Florida, but it maintains manufacturing facilities in Easton, Pennsylvania.
