Kirkland Clothing, Shoes & Accessories at Discount Prices
Kirkland Signature is the house brand sold at Costco warehouses across the country. Named for the city in Washington where the parent company had its original headquarters, the label was first introduced in 1995. Different from most other store brands, Kirkland Signature consistently outperforms most of the nationally branded products available from Costco. The company puts an emphasis on quality and always insists that its Kirkland Signature products must be as good as or better than competitors.
The warehouse retailer that would eventually become Costco was founded in 1976 in San Diego. Originally named Price Club, the company sold products in bulk to help cut out the middleman and pass savings on to consumers. While Price Club was thriving in California, entrepreneurs James Sinegal and Jeffrey Brotman opened a warehouse store that they called Costco in Seattle in 1983. After a decade of operating separately with similar business models, the two club stores merged in 1993 and the entire company was eventually renamed Costco Wholesale. Today, Costco has more than 650 stores located around the world and is one of the largest retailers in the country. The warehouse store is only accessible to people who pay annually for membership, and it currently has more than 70 million active members.
Babies & Kids Merchandise
Since Kirkland Signature is the only Costco house brand, its products run the gamut from food to clothing to household items. Clothing options specifically designed for kids mostly include sleepwear for boys and girls with various patterns and designs. You'll also find shearling boots for girls that are designed similarly to some of the most luxurious national footwear brands at a fraction of the cost.
Older girls and teens will have a wider selection of Kirkland Signature clothes to choose from. Options include inexpensive camisoles and athletic tank tops as well as yoga capris and pants. You can also find women's outerwear like yoga jackets and softshell jackets. Older boys who wear men's sizes have a great assortment of slacks and dress shirts available from Kirkland Signature. These garments come in a range of colors and patterns, and they make it easy to dress up for any sort of formal occasion. Other popular men's clothes include polos, cotton tees, underwear, and socks.
At other retailers, you might feel like you are getting lower quality clothes when you shop the store brand, but Costco works hard to ensure that you are never settling when you choose Kirkland Signature. Since you have to pay for the privilege to shop at Costco, membership comes with its perks--including a 100-percent guaranteed customer-satisfaction policy. The retailer doesn't want consumers to be unhappy with its products, so it goes the extra mile to make sure that Kirkland Signature maintains its excellent reputation. While the selection of clothing for little kids is lacking, teens and young adults will have no problem finding several great wardrobe essentials made by this brand. The designs are all fairly traditional, which means they are unlikely ever to go out of style. For a long-standing history of producing quality garments, we give Kirkland Signature 4.5 stars out of 5.
