Shop Just One Year

Just One Year was the original name given to the line of children's clothes and accessories made by Carter's and sold exclusively at Target. More recently, the brand was renamed "Just One You," but it continues to stock many of the same items. Carter's was founded back in 1865 by William Carter, and it has established itself as the top-selling brand of kids' products in America. Committed to creating innovative goods that celebrate the spirit of childhood, Carter's is known for its attention to small details that really make its products stand out.

The Target Corporation was initially launched in 1902, when entrepreneur George Draper Dayton opened a popular dry goods store in Wisconsin. The company passed to a new generation of Daytons after George's death, and they decided to open a discount retailer called Target in 1962. Rapid growth soon followed as a result of the original Target's popularity, and stores quickly opened across the country. Today, Target operates about 2,000 stores in the U.S. and Canada, and it has secured a spot as one of the top retailers in the nation. In addition to being known for its own house brands, Target also occasionally teams up with major manufacturers to create exclusive lines. Just One Year was the product of such an agreement with Carter's.

Products

Clothing and other textiles for newborns, infants, and toddlers were the hallmarks of the Just One Year brand (and continue to be major components of Just One You). Though products from the original moniker are only available via resale, you can still find a very broad selection of outfits for little ones. Options include onesies, pajamas, dresses, skirts, T-shirts, pants, shorts, rompers, overalls, sweaters, and more. Designs are all very traditional, which helps ensure that they will never go out of style. The clothes that have prints mostly feature generic designs like animals, sports insignia, dinosaurs, flowers, etc.

Just One Year also featured plenty of products beyond clothing, though most of them were other soft textiles. You could find stuffed animals in a variety of shapes and sizes for your little one to cuddle with. The line also included a wide selection of baby blankets, bibs, bathrobes, washcloths, and towels. Again, these products were mostly available in pastel colors with timeless prints, so they are just as fashionable for babies today as they were when they were still being manufactured under the Just One Year label.

Swap.com's Rating of Just One Year

The Carter's brand has a well-established, longstanding reputation that dates back 150 years, so its history is almost unmatched in the kids' clothing industry. Target is also well known for only stocking high-quality products and for vetting its house brands to make sure that they either match or exceed the quality of major name brands. The marriage of these two trusted corporations to manufacture the Just One Year line was a perfect match, and the products created under the label continue to hold up, even though it's been several years since the conversion to Just One You. Moms shouldn't have any qualms about shopping for Just One Year products via resale because they are built to last and are never likely to go out of style. We give Just One Year 4.5 stars out of 5.
