The Arizona brand of clothes for boys and girls is one of the exclusive lines manufactured for sale at JCPenney stores. James Cash Penney opened his first retail store in rural Wyoming in 1902. A young entrepreneur willing to take risks, Penney was able to grow his enterprise across the Rocky Mountain region, and he had already opened 34 stores by 1912. The company soon moved its headquarters to New York City and went national--it had more than 1,600 locations across the country by the early 1940s. JCPenney continued to diversify, and it entered the mail order business in addition to opening retail stores in the shopping malls that had begun popping up around the country.

Today, the total number of JCPenney stores has dropped slightly from the retail heyday of the mid-20th century, but there are still more than 1,100 locations in operation. Though JCPenney ended its long-running catalog a few years ago, its ecommerce business is booming and helps keep the company relevant. Additionally, JCPenney recently started introducing a store-within-a-store concept--through which it sells some of its most popular brands within themed outposts. The Original Arizona Jean Co. is one example of the new design, and this section of the store is devoted to selling clothes in the Arizona line.

You can start dressing your little one in Arizona clothes when he or she is just a baby. The brand offers a wide range of clothes in infant and toddler sizes (3m-24m), which include bodysuits, sweaters, hoodies, dresses, jeans, and shorts. Moving into sizes for slightly older kids, you'll find short- and long-sleeved t-shirts and graphic tees, as well as cargo shorts, chinos, polos, henleys, button-down shirts, and tanks for boys. Popular girls' apparel options include leggings, jeggings, skirts, camis, dresses, blouses, and more. Arizona also makes outerwear options for both genders that exude contemporary, urban flair, such as biker jackets, bomber jackets, letterman jackets and more.

Arizona continues to be popular for older kids and teens with its guys' and juniors' sizes. Jeans are some of the hottest options for both genders in this age group, and the brand is committed to keeping up with all the latest styles. In addition to a wide range of t-shirts and other tops for older boys, you'll also find shorts, underwear, swimwear, belts, and accessories. The juniors category features trendy options for older girls, like fashion tops, cardigans, tunics, dresses, blazers, capris, and more. Arizona makes a range of footwear selections--mostly for girls and young women--and shoes range from casual to dressy to functional.
