In January of 2010 Abercombie & Fitch founded A&F Cares, a philanthropic endeavor directed at helping out a variety of causes with emphasis on diversity, inclusion, human rights and sustainability. In the spirit of giving, the company holds an annual event called the A&F Challenge at its headquarters in Albany, NY. The proceeds of the event benefit a variety of charitable organizations. The event, which is open to the public, includes a 20 mile bike tour, a 5 K, children's activities and is followed by a celebration with live music, food and drinks. A&F Cares has also donated $6 million to Nationwide Children's Hospital, the funds will help build a new emergency room and trauma center for the busy pediatric hospital.
