Maternity Casual Pants

Though A Pea in the Pod has been in business since 1983 as a specialty maternity store, its presence didn't start to expand in a major way for more than a decade. In 1995, the line of about 60 stores was purchased by Mothers Work, Inc., one of its direct competitors. Founded in the early '80s by Rebecca Matthias--a mom who realized that the maternity clothing options for career-oriented women were slim--Mothers Work had recently begun to grow beyond its local market and was looking for a way to diversify. After acquiring both A Pea in the Pod and Motherhood Maternity, the once small company secured the title of the largest manufacturer of maternity clothes in the United States.
Over the last decade, A Pea in the Pod has grown exponentially. It opened a flagship store on Madison Avenue in New York in 2003, and a year later, the parent company (which now operates under the name Destination Maternity) began selling clothes from A Pea in the Pod in its new Destination Maternity Superstores. In addition to its stores around the country, A Pea in the Pod has an international presence with stores in the Middle East. The company continues to produce high-quality, stylish apparel for expectant mothers, and it has featured collections by celebrities including Nicole Richie, Heidi Klum, and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
A Pea in the Pod wants to prove to women that you don't need to sacrifice style as you try to find clothes that complement your ever-changing body. The stores sell clothing lines from more than 50 different designers, including David Lerner, Elle Macpherson, Isabella Oliver, Rebecca Taylor, and many more. You can shop by collection to find entire outfits that go together, or you can pick and choose from the company's numerous different categories of clothing. Choose from tops like tees, tanks, sweaters, shirts, and blouses, or bottoms that include shorts, pants, and designer jeans. A Pea in the Pod also has different styles of skirts and dresses, which range from casual day dresses or denim skirts to classier pencil skirts and evening gowns. The manufacturer's lingerie collections include bras, panties, camisoles, and shapers.
The designers behind A Pea in the Pod also realize that your life won't stop just because you're having a baby, so you can find swimwear, activewear, and outerwear that are all designed to help you continue your favorite activities throughout your pregnancy. Finally, the company still places an emphasis on making maternity clothes for career-oriented women, and you can find work clothes from blazers to pants to skirts to tops that will help you maintain your chic, professional appearance.
As the leading brand of high-end maternity clothes, no expectant mom's wardrobe is complete without at least one item from A Pea in the Pod. The company's outfits are designed to accentuate your natural beauty, and they can make you look fashionable while still keeping you comfortable. Trusted by a long line of celebrity moms, including Jessica Simpson, Amy Adams, Naomi Watts, Salma Hayek, and many more, the clothes from A Pea in the Pod bring a new meaning to the term "maternity chic." The price tags on the brand's clothes do tend to run on the high side, but they are known for manufacturing high-quality products. All things considered, we give A Pea in the Pod 4.5 stars out of 5.
