When you swap, we need to know your name, e-mail address, mailing address, and, depending on if you use our Swap Media service, either your credit card number or PayPal account information. This information is used solely by swap.com and will not be handed out to third party vendors or advertisers for any reason. The information you provide does allow us to ensure trades are conducted in a timely and safe manner. You can edit your personal information any time by clicking on My Profile, located in the upper left corner of each page.
how does swap.com protect customer information?
You can rest easy knowing swap.com uses a Secure Server for collecting personal and payment method information. Once you enter your information, the secure server layer (SSL) jumbles all of the information you enter before it is transmitted over the Internet and sent to us.
what are "cookies" and do you save IP addresses?
"Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. We do not use cookies to collect or store any information about visitors or customers.
Our site also records IP addresses from all visitors to our site. We use IP addresses to help diagnose any problems, analyze trends, and generate consumer demographic data all for the purpose of improving of our site. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
will swap.com disclose the information it collects to outside parties?
Swap.com does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. We may provide aggregate statistics about our customers, sales, traffic patterns, and related site information to reputable third-party vendors, but these statistics will not include any of your personal information.
